The registered massage therapy profession is governed by the Regulated Health Profession Act 1991 (RHPA) that has made massage therapy a highly accepted and respected health profession. The demand for this profession is continually growing throughout worldwide, especially in North American. The outlook for the career of Registered Massage Therapist is very positive and it is on the rise in Ontario.

The wellness centre and spa industry is growing in popularity as more people recognize it as part of important health provider of health maintenance and illness prevention.

The Canadian Tourism Commission (CTC) has been monitoring the growth of the demand of Massage Therapists in wellness centres and spa industry, and is examining the feasibility of positioning Canada internationally as a destination for Health and Wellness Tourism. If this is put into effect, registered massage therapists will witness their skills becoming even higher in demand.
