Dear Students:
Since learning of the outbreak of COVID-19, the health and well-being of all Ontarians has been our top priority. As this issue has evolved, the Superintendent of MTCU-Private Career College has decided to allow us to accommodate students by offering classroom program via online, distance, or other alternative methods of instruction on a temporary basis. (Please refer to the E-mail dated March 17, 2020 and the letter from the Director of your program).
We understand that many people are becoming increasingly concerned about their health and well-being during this difficult time. We have decided to temporary move our training to online for the period from March 23, 2020 to April 6, 2020 or to the date with the notification by local public health officer that there is no continuing risk to students of contracting COVID-19 by attending their classes.
We encourage you to check following websites to stay informed by regularly reviewing credible sources of information:
We will still need to:
Thank you for your attention and we look forward to working with you in the best interests of your academic progress during this difficult time.
With March break coming up, if you have travel plans, we strongly encourage you to review the Government of Canada Travel Advice and Advisories Website:https://travel.gc.ca/travelling/advisories
Before you leave, check your travel destinations for the travel health notices for COVID-19 as each country and area may have different levels of risk.
The Government of Canada is also advising Canadians to AVOID ALL TRAVEL on CRUISE SHIPS due to the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak, until further notice.
Should you return from travel from a region that has reported COVID-19 cases and/or evidence of community transmission or any of your family members at home is undergoing testing for COVID-19.
Please do not come to the School if you are sick – particularly if you have a cold or flu-like symptoms (regardless of whether you or a family member has recently travelled). If you have a fever, cough or difficulty breathing, we encourage you to contact Telehealth Ontario at 1-866-799-0000 or your Local Public Health Units to seek medical care early and take all reasonable precautions.
Non-pharmaceutical interventions (NPIs)
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) advises that non-pharmaceutical interventions (NPIs) will be the most important tools.
There is a great deal of misinformation and conjecture circulating in respect of Covid-19, particularly online.
